MeetMeNow Review

MeetMeNow is an excellent tool for users who’d like to start web conferencing quickly and easily, but aren’t willing to compromise on factors such as reliability or security.

Pros: It features VoIP support and a very friendly, intuitive user interface. It also integrates with Microsoft office and video conferencing, making it more readily available to many people.

Cons: This program is Windows PC only, so Macintosh users (a growing segment of the market) won’t get any benefit from it. Advanced features are available, but at an additional cost that may disappoint some users.

Yugma Review

The name of this great tool comes from a Sanskrit term meaning "unified collaboration", and the application with this name is an excellent way to collaborate seamlessly, even with people you never meat in person. Developed by a private company in Minnesota, this free web collaboration service lets people connect to one another instantly over the Internet. They can share content and ideas, using any software and application they have available. Unlike most pieces of conferencing software out there, Yugma works on Macintosh, Windows and Linux systems alike.

Pros: It works on multiple operating systems, allows hosting clubs, conducting training sessions, customer support, and almost all other collaborative activities. It is free for basic use, but more features require payment.

Cons: Advanced features require monthly subscription, and only ten people at a time can participate in a free session. All participants must register to participate in these sessions. Support for the free version is limited.

Details:

Yugma is popularly used by students in study groups, people who want to host virtual clubs, companies conducting training, customer support lines and many other groups who need to collaborate online in real time. Like many other interactive applications for online collaboration, it is simple to use. Registration and downloading of software are required, but no configuration is needed. Many features are disabled in the free version, and only ten people may participate (each with his or her own registration). However, this package is free for limited use, which can be very helpful.

Yugma operates quickly and reliably depending on the speed of each participants’ Internet access, and can only be as good as your connection. Sessions are secure, and adapt to particular organizational security standards. Premium plans cost from ten dollars per month by monthly subscription, up to about ninety dollars per month. Webinar features are provided in the higher plans, allowing for full online seminars.

Key Features
- Free access for basic membership
- Advanced capabilities with flat fee plans, including webinar capabilities
- Sessions are secure
- Operates on multiple operating systems
- No license purchase required
- Can be used by anyone with a computer, speakers and a microphone
- Shareable documents

Yugma Review Summary

Yugma has enough features in the free version to work for most simple online meeting applications, allowing many people to avoid paying for it entirely. In larger groups or for those who need advanced features, paid capabilities are available to rival most other conventional collaboration applications. It is versatile and works well for almost anyone who needs to meet online for any purpose at all.

Secure Video Conferencing

One of the most commonly advertised features of video conferencing services and software is the ability to operate securely, without danger that anyone else can eavesdrop on or record your conference, essentially (secure web conferencing). But how do you set up secure video conferencing. Let’s take a look at one method.

If you have an encryption box in place on the line that will be distributing the data, audio, and video, the only thing you’ll need to secure after that is the dialing line. You have two options for obtaining secure web conferencing through the dialing line. One is dialing from the IMUX, bypassing the dialing line completely, and the other is dialing from the CODEC. Here’s some information about both.

Dialing from the IMUX is one method for getting around the security vulnerability that comes with the dialing line. A technician who knows what he or she is doing will be able to dial and initiate calls directly from the IMUX. However, this may require the disconnection and reconnection of cables, which can be hard to get to. This method is an excellent one for creating a secure web conference environment, but it requires special expertise and some time to change from non secure modes to secure modes or vice versa.

An alternative is dialing from the CODEC menu, using what’s called an optical dial isolator. This is quicker, simpler, and more practical for most people. Both secure and unsecure calls can be initiated using the video conferencing CODEC’s on screen menus, instead of rewiring the IMUX each time a change is needed. A piece of equipment called an optical dial isolator allows data to be transmitted over fiber optic cables, instead of copper wire. If this isolator is installed between the CODEC and the IMUX on the dialing line, secure web conference becomes easier.

Optical dial isolators are most commonly used by military and government organizations to simply switch between unsecure and secure calls directly from on screen menus, without the need for extra time or special expertise to create secure video conference. With the encryption box already located on the video, audio and data line, the setup will be entirely secure. This is not the only kind of secure video conference, and it may be more than most businesses need. However, it’s the kind of security used when a truly private conference is going on.

Take the time to find out more about secure video conferencing and what it could do for your business or organization. There’s lots of information available online, and you’re sure to find a method that will help your business save time, money and other resources on meetings and demonstrations. Just spend a little while researching your options and your sure to find a method of interactive secure web conferencing that will work for you.

Video Conferencing Online

Video conferencing online offers a powerful and effective alternative to holding your meetings face to face with video conferencing communication. While the beginning, like any new technology, was fraught with problems, now web conferencing is finally starting to come into its own. Businesses of all sizes are using this technology to their advantage, saving on business travel without giving up the benefits of personal interaction with customers, other businesses, and personnel. Video conferencing over the internet is exciting, and it can do a lot to help you. Let’s take a look.

You’ll save time! Time is money - we all know that - and nearly face to face meetings over the Internet will save you a lot of time and money, especially compared to traveling to distant meetings. It doesn’t matter who you need to meet with or where in the world they’re located, you’ll save time on travel by meeting with them in the comfort of your own office. You’ll be amazed at how much more you get down when you use web conferencing.

You’ll save money! Travel can be pretty expensive, even if it’s on business. You pay for the travel itself, and sometimes you pay for meals, hotel rooms, and other associated costs, too. Plus, there’s the cost of lost productivity from being away from the office. Instead of dealing with all these extra costs, try using video conferencing over the Internet. It’s like holding a meeting in the same room, but there’s a lot less cost.

compare web video conferencing collaboration

You’ll improve relations with your clients. It’s much easier to keep in touch with your clients when you don’t need to go through the effort and annoyance of managing a physical visit every time. Video conferencing means that clients can tell you what they need, face to face and right away. It’s faster, easier, and a great way to expand your client base without needing to travel constantly.

You’ll improve employee happiness. Travel is stressful and unpleasant for everyone involved, and no one really wants to spend a long time on the road to attend a staff meeting. That means that a lot of long distance travel for meetings can result in unhappy and even unhealthy employees and coworkers. Don’t let that happen. Use web conferencing to eliminate the travel and hold meetings from the office when you need to. Everyone will be a lot happier.

If you’re part of a business or organization that needs to meet with people from far away on a regular basis, you don’t need to travel. Just have a look at the options for online web video conferencing. You’ll be surprised by how much they can do with video conferencing communication, and how much less it will cost than ordinary travel. Don’t spend all your time on the road or in the air - take it easy and hold meetings from your home office for a better, more productive, less expensive solution. Video conferencing over the internet is easier than you may think.

MegaMeeting Review Made Simple

Overview of the Features and Options:

MegaMeeting may be one of the easiest ways to meet with potential clients and coworkers without being in the same room. Designed for interactive web conferencing, this browser based software offers efficient video and audio services with no need to download, install, or configure anything. You can find the company here.

Pros: Incredibly easy to use and set up, MegaMeeting is platform agnostic and runs on any computer with a browser, making it much easier to deal with than platform specific programs.

Cons: It offers meetings with only up to sixteen people - enough for the average meeting, but not adequate for webinars or large training sessions.

Detailed Review

MegaMeeting  is a piece of software that allows users of any operating system to attend online meetings with little effort, as long as they have a browser. You don’t need to know anything special or do any downloading or configuration to use MegaMeeting. It can help cut down on travel costs for distant meetings, and is very effective for marketing departments, working on projects with distant group members, and small scale training.

To operate the software, just make sure you have a working web cam, browser, microphone and Internet connection. You can contact up to fifteen other people for virtual meeting that feels much like you’re in the room together. This can really help with creativity. MegaMeeting can be tried for free, and offers secure conferencing around the clock and around the world. However, to use MegaMeeting in the long term, you will need to pay. Long term contracts are not required, however, so you can quit any time you choose.

Key Features

- Video conferencing with both text chat and VoIP audio
- Unlimited conferencing around the world and at all hours
- Meetings based wholly through your browser
- Compatible with all operating systems
- Up to sixteen participants
- Offers secure conferencing
- Send invitations through email and connect directly
- No long term contracts or hidden fees
- Technical support available around the clock
- Share applications, screens and desktops, as well as computers

Summary

The MegaMeeting platform may be one of the most flexible meeting tools in existence, and is a great choice for small to medium sized meetings over long distances. The fee structure is transparent, with no hidden fees, and this service is a great choice for small businesses, since it makes training, collaborations and communications with other companies much easier. PowerPoint presentations and other demonstrations can easily be done simply by sharing a computer screen with other members of the meeting. The downside of MegaMeeting is the limited number of people that can be present - this isn’t the best choice for giving online seminars or holding a big training session or demonstration. For groups of sixteen or less, however, MegaMeeting ought to be extremely helpful and save time and money that would otherwise be wasted in travel. To get the service now you can  Go Here.

Web Teleconferencing Now

Web teleconferencing is becoming a lot more popular, and is readily available as an Internet service. Many more businesses are engaging in teleconferencing, allowing them to communicate around the world. There’s less need to travel to meetings in person, when you can have them online without any difficulties at all. However, there are some difficulties you’ll need to pay attention to if you’re interested in getting involved.

One of them is making sure that everyone is using software and systems that are compatible in all cases. In traditional teleconferencing or web conferencing, proprietary equipment was required. Using a service that operates on the web can remove this problem, since everyone can use their preferred browser to visit a service and participate in the conference. There’s no reason to bring specialized equipment into the picture. Just make sure each computer has its own camera and microphone and you don’t need much else.

The software for this teleconferencing is kept on central servers, instead of on each user’s computer. That prevents compatibility problems and makes sure that everyone is up to date. Of course, there can be problems, too. Working through browsers can cause other compatibility issues and can limit the capability of the teleconferencing service. For most of us, however, web teleconferencing works just fine for our needs.

Options available allow you to do everything from use the service as a bulletin board (holding the conference itself on speaker phone) to incorprating interactive web conferencing using integrated video and audio, so all participants can feel like they’re really in the room with one another. Be aware that the more complex your call is, the more additional fees you may need to pay.

There are lots of companies out there offering services for teleconferencing on the web, usually as part of a business tool package. It can be hard to tell the difference between a good company and a bad one. So how do you pick? There are a few features and details you should keep an eye out for, including free trial periods, and good feed back on service quality from others. Look to see if the company you’re thinking about working with has been the subject of complaints, as well.

Talk to people you know and get along with in the industry to find out what web teleconferencing companies they use, and do a little research and close comparison to find out which companies are offering the best deals on good service. Make sure you understand what your company actually needs, so you don’t end up paying for options you’ll never use, of course. A little care and attention could secure you teleconferencing services that are top of the line and will help you communicate with just about anyone, anywhere.

Advantages & Disadvantages of VOIP

VoIP is becoming an important part of the telecom sector for many people. Private individuals and businesses alike are saving time and money by using this helpful service. However, there are some downsides to VoIP that you need to know about, as well. Here’s a short look at the advantages and disadvantages of VoIP that’ll help you decide whether or not this service is right for your situation.

The biggest advantage of using this kind of service is probably the amount of money it saves, compared to traditional phone lines. Particularly if you need to make a lot of international calls, VoIP is a big help. It’s inexpensive, easy to use, and relatively simple to upgrade, plus it can be integrated with your existing phone connection. Calls are free in most cases if you’re placing your call from one computer to another, no matter what the distance might be. The charges to call from a computer to a phone aren’t high, either.

voip savings and cost

In a lot of cases, companies will charge a single monthly fee to allow you to make unlimited calls anywhere in a particular geographic region. Choose a virtual number, and you’ll be able to make a connection anywhere you can get broadband Internet service. Alternatively, buy a number in any geographic area you choose, including ones you don’t live in. That allows you to turn a long distance call into a local one.

VoIP accounts can be accessed anywhere in the world, just as long as you have an internet phone. Frequent travelers can make calls easily from any location, and can call, message, or do both simultaneously. Generally, a call with VoIP will cost about half what a traditional call would, and you can see your bill online.

The fact that when the power is out, you lose service, and that data loss does occur. That means that you may get dropped words or periods of silence when traffic is extremely high. In addition, there’s not yet any standard protocol for VoIP, so each service uses its own methods. Most of these disadvantages can be annoying, but many people feel that they are outweighed by the benefits.

If you’re a business or just a private person who wants to make a lot of calls without paying a lot of money, VoIP could be the answer. Take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of VoIP and find out if it’s the right choice for you.

How Does Video Conferencing Work

Nobody likes to deal with change, and that means that some of us have a hard time trusting new technology long enough to adopt it. Business owners who want to take advantage of the latest advances in online conferencing may have trouble convincing their employees that it’s a good idea. That’s why it’s a good idea to learn about the basis of the technology, so you’ll be able to argue for it more effectively. How does video conferencing work? Let’s take a look and find out.

Video conferencing, at its most basic, refers to communications technologies that integrate audio and video in real time, and help people in multiple location stay in contact. It’s a lot like a teleconference, but it’s more flexible and provides for more options in your conversation. For instance, all you need is a browser, a computer, and a high speed Internet connection, plus a functioning webcam and a good microphone to talk to people across the world.

You’ll see one another face to face (as long as both parties have cameras) and can share documents and other information across your computers. Want to demonstrate a product or show someone how to do something? Video conferencing is a great way to do it. There’s no delay, and you’ll have no trouble getting your information anywhere in the world to a person with the right equipment. There are free services available for relatively small conferences - these usually required registration and software download by all parties. There are also services for pay that can accommodate up to a thousand people, and require no download to work.

video conferencing with web cams

The video conferencing service you choose is going to depend on what you need to do and who you need to get in touch with. Give web seminars (often called webinars), train new employees or contractors with your business, communicate about projects that need to be completed, or talk with people in other businesses. Any kind of meeting is possible through the Internet as long as you have a good video conferencing solution.

These days, seamlessly and easily. Most applications are simple to install and easy to use. Problems only crop up when it comes to connectivity and number of people involved, since in many cases, your connection is only as good as the weakest link. However, the majority of web conferences run well, losing little to no data, and allowing you to hold meetings that feel like you’re right in the room.

For anyone who’s been interested in upgrading to the latest communications technology, asking how does video conferencing work is an important step. Learn what it is and what it can do for you, and you’ll have a much easier time convincing others that it’s the right solution for your needs. Before purchasing you should read some web conferencing reviews.

Audio Video Conference Software, Free Web Conference Software, How does it work?

Web Conferencing

Conferencing, as we all know, is a kind of interaction conducted to share information, plan, suggest, put arguments, reason them, put counter-arguments and reach a conclusion. It always has a motive and is done with a purpose but doe to the new trend of globalization; members of the business group are miles apart. They still need to interact and every time coming together and having a face-to-face conference is financially not viable therefore there has to be a medium of communication that would help them to converse and discuss matters. Necessity has led to invention and now each participant sits at his own desktop and connects to all the other participants across the world. This can be done either with the help of the downloaded software or by typing an URL and going in the site. It is generally done with the help of a Flash or Java technology.

free web conference software, net conference software, internet conference software, internet video conference software

In web conferencing the tools common to web pages and Internet communication are brought together to create an environment that would enable each and every participant to put forward his/her opinion. The tools that are used are HTML, XML, ASP, java scripts, Flash animation, Instant messaging and Streaming audio and video. Some web conferencing software facilitates the company’s e-mail and some facilitate the participants to see it on their web browsers.

How Web Conferencing Works?

The host invites the participants to the conference and they can log in only when they type in the Login Id and the password, which is done for security reasons. In case the conferences are in the internal server environment the users do not require a login id or a password since the data used in the conference is not allowed to go beyond the internal network and stays behind the firewall. Web conferencing software is traded by the vendors and the cost is calculated either on the duration of usage or on a fixed fee. Vendors as per the requirement of the organization also sell their software as a licensed product and the company can download it on their own server.

Let me tell you how a normal web conference would take place. The host would accumulate all the data that is required for the conference and lets the participants know that there would be a conference at a given time. Then he invites the participants using the software or my e-mailing them. The participants accept the invitation and at the given time open the web conferencing software to join the conference. The participants can see each other in the web browser and their conversation takes place over the phone, voice chat, instant messenger or a VoIP. When the conference ends the participants and the host, log off or close the browser.

Features of Web Conferencing

  • Web conferencing facilitates sharing of application which enables the participants to share do0cuments like slide presentations, spreadsheet even if the participants do not have the software in their systems.
  • Apart from sharing PowerPoint, participants can also give presentations using programs like those i.e. slides can be viewed.
  • Video can be seen which means that each participant can view all the other participants.
  • They can give presentations by using whiteboard principle.
  • Show and label images and diagrams using whiteboard principle .
  • Still pictures can also be transmitted with the help of a web cam and the pictures can be viewed using screen sharing.
  • Interactive question and answer sessions can be held wherein audio and video both can be used.
  • Documents can be modified then and there with everybody viewing it.
  • Files can be shared and transferred from one participant to the other.
  • Recording can be done by a participant for referential purposes later.

Web conferencing has acted as technological boon and has made the procedure of decision making much more faster. Its use is increasing day by day and efforts are being made to improve on the available versions.
